Numerous singles who attend our Conferences for the first time feel nervous and uncomfortable with the idea of attending a Singles Conference. But they come in spite of their feelings. They are scared that they may feel “like a fish out of water". If you feel this way - we understand.
Arriving at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler you will be greeted by someone
who welcomes you with a handshake and a smile. You make your
way to your room with anticipation. Someone has helped you carry your
luggage. You find your room and open the door. Oh my! The room
looks absolutely luxurious! You think, “I’m overwhelmed”! It is comfort
at its best.
You have heard that Greg Otterholt and his band will kick-off the Conference
at 7:30 pm so you realize you still have some time to spare. You
decide to walk to the Village Stroll. It is interesting. People mingling
everywhere! You think, “Whistler is beautiful”! You find a restaurant
and notice some of your friends are there. You hear a voice say “Come,
sit with us”. You are surprised that they too are here for the Singles
Conference.
You think to yourself this weekend is going to be a wonderful “Weekend
Escape”! You head back to the Hotel. You walk into the Conference
room with your friends who you had dinner with and Wow!! People are
standing singing. The music is energetic. The electricity in the air is out
of this world. Another thing you notice is that everyone seems to be so
friendly. And the best part is that many are your own age. It does feel
like a safe place. The “fish out of water” feelings are almost gone. It
will be a great weekend! |
